MASSENET’S MANON TO BE SIMULCAST AT SUNY SULLIVAN AS PART OF THE METROPOLITAN OPERA: LIVE IN HD SERIES
LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY (March 28, 2012) – On Saturday, April 7 at 12:00 pm, SUNY Sullivan will present an HD simulcast Massenet’s, Manon, as it is performed live at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York’s Lincoln Center. The broadcast – part of the college’s The Met: Live In HD Series – is open to the public, and will be shown in the school’s Seelig Theater. Tickets are $20.00 each for general admission, and $10.00 each for students.
Anna Netrebko’s dazzling portrayal of the tragic heroine in Laurent Pelly’s new production travels to the Met from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Piotr Beczala and Paulo Szot also star, with the Met’s Principal Guest Conductor Fabio Luisi on the podium.
The simulcast will be preceded by a one-hour discussion. Please arrive early to take part in this informative pre-show presentation. Light refreshments will be available during intermission in the DeHoyos Gallery, adjacent to the theater.
